
How to Become a Volunteer
Becoming a volunteer with the foundation is an opportunity to contribute your time, skills, and passion toward meaningful and lasting impact. We welcome individuals who share our values and are committed to service, integrity, and community development.
Step 1: Expression of Interest
Prospective volunteers are invited to complete a Volunteer Application Form available on our website or through the foundation’s office. The form allows applicants to indicate their areas of interest, availability, skills, and prior experience.
Step 2: Review and Engagement
All applications are carefully reviewed to ensure alignment with the foundation’s mission and current needs. Selected applicants may be contacted for a brief discussion or orientation session to better understand expectations, responsibilities, and placement opportunities.
Step 3: Orientation and Training
Successful volunteers participate in an orientation program designed to introduce the foundation’s values, policies, and programs. Where necessary, role-specific training is provided to ensure volunteers are well-prepared, confident, and effective in their assigned duties.
Step 4: Placement and Service
Volunteers are assigned to roles that best match their skills, interests, and availability. Throughout their service, volunteers receive guidance, support, and supervision to ensure a positive and impactful experience.
Step 5: Ongoing Engagement and Recognition
The foundation values long-term relationships with its volunteers. Regular communication, feedback, and recognition activities are provided to appreciate volunteers’ contributions and encourage continued involvement.
Volunteer Code of Conduct
The Volunteer Code of Conduct outlines the standards of behavior expected of all volunteers representing the foundation. These guidelines are designed to promote professionalism, integrity, respect, and accountability in all volunteer activities.
1. Commitment to the Mission
Volunteers shall uphold and actively support the foundation’s mission, vision, and values at all times. All actions and decisions should reflect the organization’s commitment to service, compassion, and positive social impact.
2. Professionalism and Integrity
Volunteers are expected to conduct themselves in a professional, ethical, and responsible manner. Honesty, reliability, and transparency must guide all interactions with beneficiaries, staff, partners, donors, and fellow volunteers.
3. Respect and Non-Discrimination
Volunteers must treat all individuals with dignity and respect, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, religion, disability, social status, or background. Discrimination, harassment, bullying, or abusive behavior of any kind will not be tolerated.
4. Confidentiality and Privacy
Volunteers may have access to sensitive personal, organizational, or community information. Such information must be treated as strictly confidential and should not be disclosed, shared, or used for personal gain during or after volunteer service.
5. Safeguarding and Protection
Volunteers are required to uphold safeguarding principles, particularly when working with children, vulnerable adults, and marginalized communities. Any form of exploitation, abuse, neglect, or inappropriate behavior is strictly prohibited and must be reported immediately.
6. Accountability and Responsibility
Volunteers must adhere to assigned roles, schedules, and responsibilities. Any inability to fulfill commitments should be communicated promptly to the appropriate supervisor. Volunteers are accountable for their conduct and the proper use of the foundation’s resources.
7. Appropriate Use of Resources
All property, funds, equipment, and materials belonging to the foundation must be used responsibly and solely for authorized purposes. Misuse, theft, or damage to organizational property is prohibited.
8. Representation of the Foundation
Volunteers serve as ambassadors of the foundation. Public communication, community engagement, and social media activity related to the foundation should be accurate, respectful, and aligned with official messaging and policies.
9. Health, Safety, and Well-Being
Volunteers are expected to follow all health and safety guidelines to protect themselves and others. Unsafe practices, substance abuse, or behavior that endangers individuals or the organization will not be permitted.
10. Conflict of Interest
Volunteers must disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest that may influence their role or decision-making. Personal, financial, or professional interests should not interfere with the foundation’s objectives.
11. Collaboration and Teamwork
Volunteers should work cooperatively with staff, partners, and fellow volunteers, fostering an environment of mutual respect, learning, and shared responsibility.
12. Compliance with Policies and Laws
Volunteers are required to comply with all foundation policies, guidelines, and applicable local laws and regulations. Failure to comply may result in disciplinary action or termination of volunteer service.
13. Reporting and Feedback
Volunteers are encouraged to report concerns, misconduct, or risks promptly and responsibly. Constructive feedback is welcomed as part of continuous improvement and organizational learnin
