The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Dormaa East District Assembly, Hon. Osei Owusu King and the Member of Parliament (MP) for Dormaa East, Hon. Rachel Owusuaa Ama, have embarked on a three-day familiarization tour of the district from Monday, October 5, to Wednesday, October 7, 2026.

The tour, undertaken in collaboration with staff of the Dormaa East District Assembly and executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), aimed to introduce the DCE to traditional authorities and community members, strengthen engagement with local leadership, and promote cooperation towards the development of the district.

Day One: DCE Engages Traditional Leaders at Nseseresu

The tour commenced on Monday, October 5, 2026, at Nseseresu , where the DCE met with traditional leaders to introduce himself and interact with them on matters concerning the development of the community.

During the engagement, Hon. Osei Owusu King assured the traditional authorities of his readiness to work closely with them and encouraged them to visit the District Assembly whenever they had concerns, suggestions, or development-related issues to discuss.

The engagement underscored the importance of collaboration between the District Assembly and traditional authorities in addressing community needs and advancing development.

Day Two: Engagements at Asuhyiae and Asuotiano; Assembly Office Annex Commissioned

On Tuesday, October 6, 2026, the familiarization tour continued to Asuasieye and Asuotiano, where the DCE further engaged traditional leaders and community members.

The visits provided an opportunity for the district’s leadership to strengthen relationships with local communities and demonstrate the administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and grassroots development.

A major highlight of the day’s activities was the commissioning of a newly constructed office annex for the Dormaa East District Assembly. The facility was commissioned in collaboration with the Mansen Traditional Council and the Member of Parliament.

The new annex is expected to provide additional office space to complement the existing Assembly offices, improve the working environment for staff, and support the effective delivery of administrative services.

Day Three: Dormaa AKWAMU Benefits from Key Development Projects

The final day of the tour, Wednesday, October 7, 2026, took the delegation to Dormaa Akwamu, where traditional leaders, including the Nananom, accompanied the DCE to commission three important development projects.

The projects commissioned were:

  • A three-unit classroom block at the SDA Primary School: The facility is expected to improve the learning environment and provide additional classroom space for pupils.
  • Renovation of the Dormaa Akwamu Health Centre: The renovation is intended to improve the condition of the facility and support healthcare delivery in the community.
  • A 30-seater toilet facility: The facility is expected to improve access to sanitation and promote better hygiene among residents.

The projects represent investments in education, healthcare, and sanitation, which are essential to improving the living conditions of community members.

The traditional leaders of Dormaa Akwamu expressed their satisfaction with the development initiatives and welcomed the efforts being made to improve infrastructure and public services in the area.

Commitment to Grassroots Development

The three-day familiarization tour provided an opportunity for the DCE, the MP, Assembly staff, and NDC executives to interact directly with traditional authorities and residents across the district.

Beyond introducing the DCE to the communities, the tour highlighted the importance of maintaining strong relationships between local government authorities and traditional institutions in identifying development priorities and responding to the needs of residents.

The commissioning of the Assembly office annex and the three projects at Dormaa Akwamu also brought attention to ongoing efforts to improve administrative capacity and essential public infrastructure within the district.

As the Dormaa East District Assembly continues its work, sustained collaboration among the Assembly, Members of Parliament, traditional authorities, and community members will remain important in promoting development across the district.

Miss Nelson Foundation and MEDIA will continue to bring you updates on development initiatives and activities within the Dormaa East District and beyond.
